We know the Holidays can be a time of depression and sadness for adults but we don't think about kids and teens being less than joyful during this time of year. Can you imagine being a child/teen knowing you don't have a family to spend Christmas with? Kindness Shared has created a tradition at HomeSafe to bring more joy into Christmas Day for the kids in the group home. Each year on Christmas morning, in addition to all the gifts we send, we do something extra special. They also each receive a $40 gift card to the movies. They all go as a group and they feel excited and special to be able to purchase anything they want from the snack counter. For many kids this is their first time ever going to the movies.
