Pets with Purpose Program
and Farm Friends

Pets With Purpose is a comprehensive program written for the teens living in group foster care at HomeSafe in West Palm Beach. They learn life lessons as well as bond with the animals. This helps them ease their anxieties and is very therapeutic for them. They thoroughly enjoy giving the animals love and attention.

Farm Friends is an experience  written for The Friendship Journey. Kids and teens of all cognitive & developmental abilities have the opportunity to learn about and meet all of our loving therapy animals.  The Friendship Journey vision is to foster understanding and create friendships between the special needs and typical populations. When we add our rescue animals to that mix, magic happens.

Bubbles The Pig

Picture
Meet Bubbles.

This delightful pot belly spent the first 8 years of her life in a cage she could barely turn around in, and never had her nails trimmed.  She was in pain walking, and so overweight her stomach dragged.

Now she has an entire room to live in, enjoys being outside, lost weight, and loves her new diet of healthy food.

Elvis The Pig

Meet Elvis

We got Elvis from a family who could not give him the proper pig  lifestyle.

One thing he was very lucky to have received was lots of love, so he came to us happy, trusting, and friendly. We will continue to give him lots of love and treat him like the King he is.

Elvis went right to work as one of our therapy animals and he became an instant favorite of the participants!

Both were rescued from a processing plant and "strut their stuff" on the property. Sandy spreads his feathers and welcomes you with lots of loud gobbles.

Rescued before they were born, 6 of them have a pond and their own space. They are Peking Ducks and don’t fly because of their weight.

Dapper

Dapper spent the first 6 months of his life paralyzed and tied to a tree.
Now he’s living the good life at Kindness Shared.
He will always have a spinal trauma but that’s not stopping him from sharing love and kindness with everyone he meets.
