Why Kindness Shared Happiness Squared was formed.
Picture this…While most of us are waking up in our beds, a boy not too far down the road is waking up on his piece of cardboard that serves as his bed. His bed is not in a bedroom like ours, but in a secluded area of a parking lot. He proceeds to school as it serves as his only form of structure, stability, and safety. He doesn’t complain about going to school as so many other kids do as part of the normal morning routine. Most kids get to start their day with a shower, breakfast, and clean clothes. Not this boy. All our daily conveniences are a luxury he can only dream of. Since showers and clean clothes are not easily accessible for him, one day he is called into the office at school. They toss him a bar of soap and tell him to clean up his act or he can’t come back because he smells. This boy doesn’t need a bar of soap, he needs kindness. There is an abundance of stories that you would think are from third world countries. Sadly they are happening in nearby neighborhoods. Kids too tired and hungry to play because it wasn’t their turn to eat dinner last night. High school girls who can’t go to school because they have their menstrual cycle and their families can’t afford sanitary supplies. Children take turns going to school because they share one pair of shoes with their siblings. These are our neighbors. They are living just down the road. Children are not responsible for the circumstances in which they live. Every child deserves happiness. It is out of respect for the agencies and kind people already out there fighting for these children that we proudly step in and say, "we are grateful for all you do and we want to help!” Join our team and help distribute happiness. Our Mission
Kindness Shared Happiness Squared is a nonprofit, tax exempt 501(c)(3) corp. created to distribute happiness. We improve the lives of children challenged with disabilities and/or in severe financial need. Each season of the year is dedicated to a specific need. We collaborate with different agencies, working as a team, to positively impact the lives of children. |
